The Japan Steel Works, Ltd. is committed to the following eight principles in its conduct of business, both domestically and overseas, and will act at all times with social responsibility, in compliance with all applicable laws and standards, and in keeping with the spirit and rules of the international community.
 
1. To develop and provide products, technology and services that are trusted by our customers and society.
2. To conduct our business activities as a good corporate citizen, in full compliance with all laws, regulations, and ethical standards.
3. In conducting our business affairs, to compete and trade in a free, fair and transparent manner. In addition, to maintain at all times an honest and healthy relationship with political and administrative bodies.
4. To respect the rules and norms of the global community, and to contribute to the development of the world economy, society, and promotion of environmental protection.
5. To confront anti-social forces and organizations that threaten to disrupt the order and safety of our community, and to resist all illegal or abusive demands.
6. To be proactive in disclosing corporate information to the public, and to ensure the accuracy and fairness of such disclosures.
7. To respect the individuality and humanity of each employee, to maintain a high standard of consciousness for their individual rights and safety, and to ensure a safe and comfortable work environment.
8. Top management will undertake their responsibility as role models in this organization, will conduct their business in strict adherence with this Code of Conduct, and will strive to ensure universal understanding and organizational compliance therewith. In addition, should there be any violation of this Code of Conduct, top management will take responsibility for conducting a thorough investigation, for installing measures to prevent recurring violations, and for imposing appropriate sanctions, including such sanctions as may apply to themselves.
