1907
JSW is founded with capital of 10 million yen by Hokkaido Colliery Steamship Company, Sir W.G. Armstrong, Whitworth & Co., Ltd., and Vickers Sons and Maxim, Ltd. Headquarters and factory are at Muroran in Hokkaido .
1915
Headquarters moves to Tokyo.
1920
With the purchase of the Hiroshima Seisakusho Co., Ltd., Hiroshima Plant is established.
1935
Construction of Yokohama Plant starts. Operation begins in June 1936.
1938
Construction of Tokyo Plant starts . Operation begins in May 1941.
1950
The Japan Steel Works, Ltd. is dissolved and reestablished with capital of 200 million yen. Operations at four plants in Muroran, Hiroshima, Yokohama, and Tokyo, and head office are taken over by new company.
1969
JSW offices are established in New York, Dusseldorf, and Teheran.
1975
JSW offices are established in Los Angeles , Houston , and Singapore.
1978
Japan Steel Works America, Inc. is established in the U.S.A.
1983
Operations begin at new Yokohama Plant. Beijing Office is established. Deming Application Prize is awarded to JSW.
1987
Information services launched. Redevelopment project commences on former site of Tokyo Plant.
1989
JSW Plastics Machinery, Inc. is established in the U.S.A.
1991
Technology Development Center is completed on premises of Hiroshima Plant.
1992
Intelligent high-rise building , "J-Tower," is constructed at "Fuchu Intelligent Park." JSW Plastics Machinery (S) Pte, Ltd. is established in Singapore.
1994
ISO 9001,9002 certification is obtained.
1997
JSW Plastics Machinery (H.K.) Co.Ltd. is established in Hong Kong.
1998
ISO 14001 certification is obtained.
2000
JSW Plastics Machinery (TAIWAN) Corp. is established in Taiwan.
2003
New office completed at Muroran Plant. 10,000-ton press is replaced by 14,000-
ton press. JSW Plastics Machinery (C) Corp. is established in China.
2005
Shanghai Office is established.
