The Japan Steel Works, Ltd.
(JSW), established in 1907, had amassed a wealth
of advanced technology as the largest private
weapons manufacturer in Japan by the end of
World War II. After the war, conversion of production
to meet civilian demand gave the Company a fresh
start, and materials and processing technologies
accumulated over the years were used as a base

industries around the world.The current focus
is on development of advanced materials, optics,
