Features

JSW has introduced the basic technology of direct drive permanent magnet gearless wind turbines from Europe and has improved it to fit for purpose by our modern technology.

High efficiency

  Direct gearless drive eliminates gear loss and synchronous generator with permanent magnet offers high efficiency compared with conventional design.

High reliability

  No gearbox and no oil cooler eliminates a major cause of trouble. Compared with an asynchronous slip ring anchor generator, no abrasion parts such as brushes are required, eliminating the need for maintenance/replacement.

Low noise

  Gearbox, which is the major source of noise claim, is omitted.

Low maintenance cost

  In addition to high reliability, because there are no equipments which require oil lubrication, such as gearbox, main shaft and brushes, a remarkable reduction of maintenance cost is possible.

Less influence to grid

  The full conversion of the power leads to several advantages for the power quality supplied and the flexibility offered to the grid operator. Special features can be offered concerning grid power management, such as cos phi improvement, even without power production of the wind turbine.
