JSW Announces the Transfer of Compressor Business to Burckhardt Compression (Japan) Ltd

The Japan Steel Works, Ltd. (hereinafter JSW) announced that JSW agreed with Burckhardt Compression (Japan) Ltd (hereinafter BCJP, CEO Kenichi Yamamoto, Headquartered in Yokohama Japan), a subsidiary company of Burckhardt Compression AG in Winterthur, Switzerland, to transfer JSW Compressor Business to BCJP.
Background and Purpose
JSW values Plastics Machinery Business as “core business for JSW” and JSW is committed to expand such Plastics Machinery Business conglomerate by means of further investment of the company resources on to growing business segments.
The parent company of BCJP is Burckhardt Compression AG who is a successor of compressor business where such technology was once licensed to JSW in the past. Burckhardt Compression AG has a various types of compressors available with a global after service network for compressors.
Under such circumstances, with this transaction, JSW shall transfer compressor business including after service support to existing users to BCJP and its global affiliates, who are running compressor business as their primary business. Also, JSW will be concentrating on to promising business by accelerating investment activities. The closing of the transaction is expected to occur in March to April 2020.
