Community Beautification

We engage in cleanup activities around our plants and along commuting routes.
These activities are also opportunities to engage with local communities and raise the environmental awareness of employees.

Hiroshima Plant

Since 2003, the Hiroshima Plant has held a clean campaign twice a year to clean routes around the company.
In addition to our employees, we also received cooperation from local residents, with a total of 82 people participating in the clean-up campaign in June 2025 and 59 people participating in the clean-up campaign in November 2025.
In February 2024, we received an award from Hiroshima City for 20 years of environmental beautification activities in recognition of our ongoing activities as a place for community contribution and interaction.

Yokohama Plant

As part of our community contribution activities, the Yokohama Plant conducts beautification activities for commuting routes as part of the annual training for new employees, and all employees also conduct beautification activities inside and outside the premises every year.
In fiscal 2025, we carried out beautification activities on commuting routes in April and beautification activities inside and outside the premises in June.

Meiki Plant

At the Meiki Plant, employees carry out beautification activities outside the premises twice a year as a community contribution activity.
In fiscal 2025, we collected trash from the side roads around the plant twice in May and October, and properly separated and disposed of a total of approximately 35 kg of trash.

Muroran Plant

As part of its efforts to contribute to the local community and protect the environment, the Muroran Plant participates every year in the "Hokkaido Ocean Cleanup Campaign!" event, organized by the consumer cooperative Coop Sapporo.
This event is held in multiple locations throughout Hokkaido, and involves cleaning up oceans, rivers, and other areas.
In fiscal 2025, 30 employees from the Muroran Plant participated in a cleanup activity at Muroran Itanki Beach on May 14, 2025, and nine employees from the Muroran Plant participated in a cleanup activity at Noboribetsu Yamatocho Beach on May 17, 2025.

Education

Within our company premises, we conduct plant tours, workplace tours and work experience activities.
We view these as opportunities to interact with local communities and employees' families and convey the appeal of monozukuri to students and other visitors. Furthermore, outside of our company premises, our employees give lectures and presentations at universities, contributing to the education of the next generation of engineers.

Community Exchanges

Hiroshima Skill Fair

On November 12, 2025, we co-sponsored and exhibited at the "42th Hiroshima Skill Fair" organized by Hiroshima Prefecture and the Hiroshima Vocational Ability Development Association.
We exhibited two items: a molding demonstration using an injection molding machine and a stainless steel chopstick rest polishing experience. A total of 123 people, including students from elementary school to high school and the general public, visited our booth. By experiencing the process for themselves, participants were able to experience the difficulty and complexity of manufacturing, as well as the excitement that lies beyond that.

Muroran Children's Environmental Festival

On February 15, 2026, the Muroran Plant exhibited at the Muroran Children's Environmental Festival, sponsored by Muroran City. We provided an explanation of clean energy using hydrogen and an exhibit of operating radio-controlled cars for visitors to enjoy and learn how hydrogen fuel cell vehicles work.

Mikasayama Shrine in Muroran, Hokkaido, which was built at the time of JSW's founding based on the desire to ensure our future development and safe operation, holds an annual festival in August that is attended by many local residents.
